Silt can build up within a drain, sewer or pipe when specific materials (such as sand, clay, or quartz) enter the system through drains or gutters and settle as sediment at the bottom of the pipe.

There are several different ways of desilting a drain; however, the most popular method is through high-pressure drain jetting. To jet a drain, we blast water through the system under a certain amount of pressure. That water cleans the pipes and removes any silt. In other cases, we may need to vacuum the silt out using a tanker.

CCTV surveys can diagnose a wide variety of potential problems, including different forms of blockages and signs of wear and tear. A survey can also be used to identify areas of weakness within a drainage system. That includes being able to diagnose issues caused by collapsed drains, tree roots, blockages, causes of leaks or burst pipes, signs of wear and tear, signs of corrosion, animal intrusions and displaced elements.

A CCTV drain survey can vary in how long it takes to complete based on the length and the diameter of the drains. For a small system they can be completed within two hours. For a larger system it will take a longer amount of time. Our engineers will also provide a full quote and time estimate before any work is carried out.
